Clearance and investigation

Tell us when the problem began, whether wastewater is overflowing and which fittings still drain normally. Accessible drainage is assessed before a suitable clearance method is selected. Cleaning, a camera inspection or repair assessment can be discussed for problems that keep returning.

Shared drainage and access

If the property shares a stack, gully or inspection chamber, explain whether neighbours are affected. Check who can authorise access and provide a managing-agent contact where permission is needed.

Before using the affected drain

If wastewater is backing up, stop using the affected fittings and avoid repeated flushing. Keep people and pets away from overflows. Explain any previous attempts to clear the blockage and any known shared drainage before work begins.
