Wipes Drain Blockage Cleared
A real Blockage Busters job: clearing a drain blockage caused by wipes and checking the flow afterwards with dye.
The blockage and clearance
The problem: a drain blocked by wipes
Wipes had caused a blockage in the drain at this job.
The clearance: jetting and chemical treatment
Blockage Busters used jetting and chemicals to clear the blockage.
The check: water flow tested with dye
After the clearance, we used dye to check that water was flowing through the drain. The green colour in the photograph is the testing dye used for this check.

What a flow check does and does not show
A flow check records discharge observed during that check; it does not by itself establish the condition of every downstream pipe. For a similar problem at your property, provide the symptoms and earlier findings rather than assuming the same clearance method applies. Keep wipes and sanitary products out of toilets, including wipes labelled flushable. Do not copy chemical treatments from a job account. Tell the engineer about any products already used and agree the appropriate work after assessment.
If your drain is blocked, tell us your postcode and the symptoms so we can discuss the appropriate next step. Explore our drainage services or call 07379 424891.
